As of yesterday (9 May 2017), it was my second time using the Jamaican Black Castor Oil on my scalp.
I applied and massaged it through my scalp the night before and left it overnight. Although I just applied a small amount, I thought my head was ‘heavy’ from the greasy feeling.
I couldn’t wait to wash it off. Two rounds of shampooing was needed to clear the oil off my scalp.
After shampooing, my hair felt light and so manageable.
Does Castor Oil Increase Hair Growth?
I’d be lying if I declared that the oil has stimulated my hair growth (especially that I’ve only used it three times so far).
What I do notice however is that there IS a slight reduction in the amount of hair I lost after shampooing.
Usually I lose about 30 strands after washing my hair but after applying the castor oil, the amount of hair loss has reduced to about 20-25 strands.
I know I can’t expect much because this is only the third time that I’m using it.
Where Can I Buy Castor Oil For Hair Growth
If this oil really works for hair growth, then it’s really a no-brainer to include it as part of your hair care routine.
It won’t burn a hole in your pocket as a bottle of the oil typically costs between $10 to $15 (depending on the brand and bottle capacity).
Besides, it doesn’t hurt that it makes your hair feels really smooth, without the need for conditioners.
There are just too many brands to choose from but we finally settled on the one from Simply Organic. You can either get it from Amazon or Simply Organic website.
It has worked to reduce my husband’s hair loss and stimulate his hair growth. This is of course not achieved just from using it once or twice. It took a few months before he saw significant results.
Oh yes, he also used other products to complement the use and effects of the oil.
I will update this post in a few months on my progress with the use of castor oil!
